Do as you said and ask her if you could talk to her, then tell her how beautiful she is etc and mention a new movie out (as an example, if you don't like movies then tell her about a great cafe etc) and ask her if you could take her there :D Just remember, one of the nicest things a man can do for a woman is to give her a genuine complement; hair, eyes, outfit, personality etc! good luck :D
