Non weight bearing half leg cast?

I fractured my 5th metatarsal straight across a month ago and did not get a cast til' 5 days ago. Is doing Pointe on tile floor bad?

When I practice pointe I normally do so on a hardwood floor. Is is slippery enough as it is but I can't imaging trying to on a tile floor. Unless the tile is the textured stone stuff (not the shiny stereotypical bathroom and kitchen floor) I think you'd be fine. It may be easier if you find somewhere with that or even hardwood. You are right about the pressure on your foot on a hard surface. My dance studio uses a more boient floor to make is easier but there is one with a dance may over tile and it is harder to dance on. It's probably not considered 'bad' to dance on in long terms so you should be fine. Have fun and don't give up with pointe! I'm sure that you will improve overtime. Just always think confident :).

Why is my friend so much more ripped than i am?

We're both 17 and weve been almost best buds for about 4 years now. Now my friend, is THE most ripped kid i have ever seen in my life. He must have something like 1% body fat. me and him go to the gym three times a week, and he does kickboxing lessons for an hour i think one night. Aside that, im not even joking, he has ripped abs and a v-shaped body, yet he leads such an unhealthy lifestyle. When he's a gym he's only there for maximum 1 hour, these days mostly half an hour so he can see this girl he likes. His family never cooks, everytime ive been there they always have frozen food or take away, he says they have it at least twice a week. At school all he eats is food from the canteen such as hot dogs, donuts, cookies and pies, i dont think ive ever actually seen him with fruit or veg in his hand before. This gets me massivly confused as i used to be the fat kid, but ive worked hard into getting into good shape by consistently exercising 6 times a week, cutting all sugary, soda and take-away out of my diet and eating nothing but fruit, veg, bread, nuts and home-made cooking from my mum, and im in nowhere near good shape as him. Ive worked hard to become alot healthier than this time last year, but he just doesnt seem to try at all and still looks better than me. My question is why is this so and will this come back to bite him in this **** once hes not a teenager anymore and loses his metabolisms, will i be benifitted more with my healthy lifestyle in the long run? How to fix the middle armrest and glove compartment in a Chevy Malibu?

So when my husband buys a new car he'll be giving me his 1998 Chevy Malibu (um...yay?) It runs okay and I only really need it to make short runs to the store, laundromat, whatever. But I would like to spruce it up a little before I get it. Last year we had a break-in. There was nothing to take (NOT EVEN THE STEREO!) but the middle armrest/storage compartment was ripped off of its hinges and the handle to the glove compartment was broken off. The glove compartment isn't that big of a deal but the armrest is literally a hazard. If I brake too hard, it goes forward and throws the car into neutral. Can these things be fixed? And if so, how?

I grew up around horses, and we always used their manure for our gardens. And do you live in the city, or town? Why would they have horses in town anyways? They should know things like this happen. But if i were you, don't put any harm on the horses, it's not their fault, it's the owners, because their not watching them, and probably don't feed them enough. They can't really go over electric fence tho. If anything just put privacy fence up. I can't really tell you what to do, because this has never happened to me. I'm 19 and was pulled over for "barely touching the double yellow line on a turn"?

I'm 19 driving at 11:00 PM and had 3 cop cars follow me for ten minutes which pulled me over on a turn that had hazards on the right hand side. When they told me why they pulled me over it was because I touched the double yellow line when I went around that turn. The cop did not ask for ID or anything just told me to step out of the car. I passed his tests, blew straight 0's, and was very cooperative. When I asked for my sweatshirt they said they would get it for me, The cop asked for my permission to grab and search my sweatshirt. I gave him permission to grab and search my sweatshirt only. He then grabbed a wood case from my middle console that held weed in and an empty beer from the back seat that was covered by a blanket. I was then handcuffed and legally detained without having my rights read to me. the cop didn't even put a seat belt on me. When we got to the station they drew my blood and questioned me. They then gave me my charges for open container in a car, minor in possession of alcohol and a possession of a controlled substance. I was then able to call for a ride to get picked up from the station. After given the tickets I forced made to sign a paper and then was able to leave. Was what they did legal? And when I fight it what could be dropped?

How naive is that! I'd instantly get the thought that he/she likes me. Then my heart breaks because I thought he/she likes me but he/she doesn't. Anyway, a hottie boy recently moved into my school. I fell in love when I first saw him(That's silly, right?). Then one day, I caught him staring at me. He was staring at me for quite long. When I looked back at him, he quickly turned around. The next day, the same thing happened again but this time, when I looked at him, he didn't turn around, but instead, I turned around, blushing. Ok, so I have a 4 month old Australian Shepherd and she is really hard to train. I know naturally Aussies are really smart dogs and catch on to things quick. It's not that she isn't smart, because when she figures things out she's spot on. The only problem is she gets really excited and can't focus. I just spent freshman year at a new school. I just left my old school which was a private school planning on going to this normal highschool. but then i got accepted into this special art school which i had tried getting into 7th and 8th grade. I can assure you the needles at professional salons are 100% sanitary, and by law, the stylists and cosmetologists should also be 100% 'disease free'. The needle doesn't prick you. There is a chance it might, but if you go to a salon with real professionals, and can almost promise you that it won't. It takes awhile to put in, but it's worth it. I've been a cosmetologist for only since November, I've applied over 100 weaves of all types, and I havent pricked anybody, so who knows how well the professionals are?(; Good luck, hun!

Second interview at Hooters.. What to wear!?

My first interview went really well, and I have a second interview with the General Manager, who is a woman. The regular manager who interviewed me the first time was a man, and told me when I come to the next interview to "dress to impress" does this mean dress like I would for an interview at any regular place (not revealing but still sexy and professional) or should I wear short shorts and a tight shirt? The shorts are nice, light grey with buttons on the back pockets, not cuttoff jeans, (its too hot in texas to wear long pants) and the shirt is just a plain black shirt that isn't too low cut, just tight fitted. Its sexy but simple. Should I wear heels? I'm worried I will either under or over do it. Any advice would be much appreciated. Do I Have Weak Ankles?

Any time i do any type of exersizing that has to do with some sort of running and sometimes walking my ankles kill. At first its just when im running but then if i continue, it gets worse and i feel the pain even when im just walking. for example, yesterday i was playing soccer outside with a friend and about have way through my ankles started hurting just when i was running. then i was running and stepped over the ball and my ankle hurt so bad i could hardly walk. the pain is on the outside of my ankles right beside the big round bone towards the heel. do i have weak ankles? or could anyone have any ideas of what this is? thanks!!

Sharp Heel pain help!!!!!!!?

I have had this mysterious sharp heel pain for a number if years now, but it only happens after sprinting and then I come to a complete stop, soon after the pain comes. It becomes difficult to walk yet alone sprint again, and I always seem to get it in my baseball games. The pain lasts for a couple of hours. I am 5'11.5 and size 13 shoe if that helps

My teacher i love and think she likes me too?

Is my computer supposed to do this?

Hi. I plugged in a cable to the "Line In" socket in my desktop PC, and when I started to put the other end into the headphone socket to my laptop, my laptop just switched off, with no "Windows is shutting down" messages or nothing. I never put the cable in fully, but the point of the cable did interact with the outer ring of the headphone socket, causing a strange buzzing noise to come out of the desktop PC, but it always does this, even when I plug my iPod in! After putting two gallons of gas in my truck, why wont it work again?

I just recently got my grandpa's old 1998 nissan toyota frontier after it had been in the shop for several weeks. It worked just fine for almost a month until i waited to long to refill it with gas. I finally put a gallon or so in from a canteen, and after jumping it with my mom's car it decided to work again. Well, when i tried to start it the other day the battery said it was dead again! Now it wont work again and I don't know what to do. If anything is new about the truck it's that freakin' battery! We got it just before buying the truck from my granfather. So...I'm not sure what to do. Should I bring it to my mechanic again even though it'll cost money to have it towed there? Or should I try and refill it with more gas in the hopes that it might work again?

Is it legal to hold someone against their will at work?

I work in fast food and work a closing shift quite regularly. When we close we are required to close, clean, and stock a certain position and once we finish that we are technically "done". Once we are "done" and the store is closed we are required to clock out, but here's the catch. We can't leave. We must sit and wait for all of the other workers and managers to finish. Because us leaving would be a "safety hazard". If we cannot leave and are required to be there against our will, should we have to clock out? Is it legal to force the workers to clock out and yet make them stay? If so, what law is this breaking, I would highly appreciate specifics.. Thanks.

I have a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Sedan with 93,000 miles. When I drive down a steep hill and press on the brakes, the steering wheel shakes and I can hear it,and when I drive fast on the highway the steering shakes but not as much as driving down a hill without pressing the brakes. I called the mechanic and he said it is warped brake rotors. I had my rotors changed in April 2011 and this problem has been happening for over a year. I am scheduled to see the front end mechanic to see if that is the problem and I may just get my rotors replaced or fixed. Your thoughts? The Mechanic said I should get with the last mechanic whom changed my brake rotors, but I will see when I get my cars front end checked and he said it's not an alignment problem, but a brake rotor problem? Should I donate blood again?

I have donated three times. The first time was a last minute thing, I saw it in the paper and thought why not I think I'll do it. I didn't do anything to prepare and I ended up being fine after. The second time I ended up passing out at the canteen and woke up in my juice. Yesterday I donated for my third time and I didn't pass out but I was very dizzy every time I sat up. I think they kept me on the table for anywhere between a half hour to an hour. (I was their last patient because I usually go an hour and a half before it ends) For both the second and third times I ate good and drank extra. A couple of the red cross people were surprised to see me back. I'm wondering if I should do it again. I really want to because it makes me feel good. My friends and family think that my boyfriend is controlling.?

my friends and family think that my boyfriend of 6 months is too controlling. my mother refers to him as my "master" and my friends question why i put up with his behavior. i am 18 years old and her is 21. the reason they think he is controlling is because he doesn't like for me to wear shorts, any shirt other than a tee shirt, high heels, or makeup. Do I have to accept that my daughter's untidy?

Major fire hazard, will a surge protector stop this?

My laptop charger is not working properly. It is causing too much power to go thru to the metal tip of the charger. Sprained ankle but afraid I broke it?

About..two weeks ago I fall off a chair..Only on tuesday did i go to hospital. The said they couldn't find anything wrong with it but i think they were lying to me as they have done it before. I fractured my finger and knuckle and the hospital said that nothing was wrong with my finger..my finger was still giving me pain so a wekk or two later we went back and they told us that it was fractured. They never showed us my x-ray of my knuckle and finger. When i broke my wrist they showed me straight away, pointing out why they were giving me the cast and stuff..But with my ankle they have done the same again and not showed me. They told me that it was a nasty sprain and something was sticking out where it shouldn't be. The nest day i could put weight on my ankle so i thought it was all good. At school we had a FLD (flexible learning day) where we dont do any of our lesson we do something totally different,,And the theme of the day was fitness and exercise. I had been to a teacher that morning saying i couldn't join in with any of the activites. The teacher said fine and was suppose to give me another timetable..They didnt, So i went to the dance class i was suppose to be doing.. Street dancing. I thought cause i could but weight on my ankle and it didn't hurt this will be fine, I can do this. Half way through the lesson something happened to my ankle and me and my two friends heard a kind of clicking/cracking noise. It was painful to walk on. But i still carried on with my lesson because i didnt want to feel stupid leaving the lesson. So i continued with the lesson. After the lesson I limped to meet my other friends one of my friends hit the nack of my ankle and I bursted into tears. I went to the canteen and sat there crying some more. My boyfriend offered to carry me to the reception.But i walked. The lady had a look and said it looked swollen and very badly bruised. She sent me home saying i have to rest it for four days. Im still resting it now..But its painful to walk on and my big toe hurts alot. I hit it off the door this morning..me being clumsy..and i heard another cracking/clicking noise. My mum said after resting it for four days we will she how it is but she wont take me back to the hospital because i was only there the other day..What can you do to help me?? 5 days ago a backpack with a metal canteen filled with water hit on the right side of my forehead from about 8 feet above me. I got hit directly with the canteen because it was on the outside of the pack. It hurt really bad when it initially hit me, and it sort of felt like my ears got clogged for a few seconds. Then it went away and i just had a huge bump. The bump only lasted an hour or 2. But since then ive been having these headaches. There not that that painful, just uncomfortable, there in the front of my head, they always happen like right in the middle of my forehead and sort of behind my eyes. Does this mean i probobly got a concussion? Will these headaches go away?

You will have to wait a couple days before you could put your foot into water to prevent infection, and just to be safe. If you protected your toe from water though you would be fine. So I go airsofting quite a bit (like once every week), and we are normally out there for about 4 hours. The temperature is normally in the high 70s low 80s, and we wear dark, camouflage. At about 2 hours in I get really exhausted, like I just want to fall over and take a nap. I get about 8 hours of sleep, Eat a good breakfast (Today consisting of 2 eggs, 2 pieces of wheat toast with margarine spread, a tall glass of milk, and a small bowl of Cheerios), and I drink a good size glass of water before we leave. However, I don't really get anything to drink while im there save for a few drinks of my friends canteens. Is this dehydration fatigue? Am I not getting enough sleep? How do I stop kids from calling me names?

I go to school with this kid who used to be my friend. About 5 months ago he decided to stop being my friend because he thought I was gay. At first he just yelled "your gay" at me and that never really bothered me because it had no effect on my life. I thought it would just wear off until he started to become more aggressive. At that time I had 2 really nice friends who treated me well. They were the only kids who I actually considered true friends. One of them started to hang out with this kid and I slowly began to notice he was becoming more like him. Eventually my other friend became like him to. They all hang out together in a group and hate on me. Now the kid who started this all has no reason to hate me, I never did anything to him. He runs away from every time I am near him because he thinks i am going to rape him. I am not gay, I have told him that but he never stops. I know if i can some how convince him that im not gay all of the others will stop. But i know i am going to have a hard time doing this because everything I say to him he uses against me. He is a spoilt brat, he is beyond rich and is extremely selfish. He once brought $80 dollars to school and used it all at the canteen, throwing away half of what he bought. You're probably relieved because, even though you like him, the constant thinking about him takes it's toll and it interferes with your everyday life. You can now start to move on and concentrate on other things. You know deep down this guy isn't interested so at least you're not still holding on to the hope that he wants you.
